West Lake Dragon Well
| A typical example of standard conventions for naming teas, Xi Hu (West Lake in the province of Zhejiang) is the place where specifically this Long Jing was cultivated. West Lake Dragon Well is the best known of the teas from this region and is cultivated within an area spanning 168 square kilometres. Originally this region was divided into four smaller regions: Lion (Shi), Dragon (Long), Cloud (Yun) and Tiger (Hu), nevertheless in the course of time the boundaries between these areas disappeared and today the teas from this region are divided into the categories of Shi Feng Long Jing, Mei Jia Wu Long Jing and all others collectively as Xi Hu Long Jing. Dragon’s well from Western lake ranks amongst the best known Chinese teas and is indisputably amongst the best quality teas. The tea has an intensive but nevertheless very refined, refreshing fruity floral aroma with a hint of nut and chestnut (the chestnut aroma reportedly originates during searing the tea on the first pan in order to halt the oxidation process). The taste hits almost immediately, filling the mouth with a sweetness reminiscent of grapefruit, whilst the classic taste of green tea emerges in delicate contours. This tea is so well known that it was drunk on their first visits to China by Queen Elizabeth II, former US president Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger. |

| Prepare tested water for the tea infusion with which you have experience, or use ordinary tap water which has been left standing for a sufficient period, preferably overnight, ideally rid of chlorine. Rinse the teapot and cups with hot water. Use approx. 2g of tea leaves (1-2 teaspoons) for each 150ml of infusion or to taste. Brew the necessary quantity of tea in hot water at a temperature of 75-85°C for a period of 1 minute for the first and second infusions. With further infusions progressively extend the brewing time. |

| Naprostá klasika v dobré kvalitě za rozumnou cenu, což nebývá pravidlem. |

| Klasický a dle mého skromného názoru výborný Longjing za přijatelnou cenu za tuto třídu kvality. Doporučuji více lístků, kratší dobu, asi 85C a pak chuť obsahuje všechny složky co bych od Západního jezera čekal. |

| Dračí studna od Západního jezera je naprostá klasika a dost rozšířená, je možné hodně srovnávat. Konkrétně tato je vynikající! |
